Laser-therapy

Fractional laser therapy is currently an ultramodern method used in successful scar and stretch marks treatment, skin rejuvenation, exfoliation, discolored skin,  and skin resurfacing.

Laser light stimulates the dermis to produce new collagenous fibers, whose density diminishes as years go by, counteracting the effects of skin aging. The non-ablative technique does not damage the structure of the epidermis, and thus does not cause side effects which occur when conventional laser treatment (ablative technique) is provided. Effects of treatment are immediate while progress is seen within several weeks of the procedure, reaching its full potential 2-3 months of the procedure. Laser technique, based on the classic, selective photo-thermolysis leads to skin rejuvenation through a reduction in the discolorations and undesirable vascular lesions visible on the skin.
Palomar StarLux® 500 Technology is one of the most innovative laser devices on the market, featuring the highest level of ergonomics and functional parameters. StarLux® 500, a laser platform, makes it possible to use multiple applicators, such as erbium Glass (1540) as well as IPL systems with a set of filters. The devices possess FDA registration as well as the CE certification, while the Palomar Lux1540 Fractional TM applicator is the only fractional laser in the world which was awarded FDA registration in the treatment of scars, including stretch marks. The modern Max GTM Head currently provides an optimal treatment for vascular and pigmented skin lesions in the world.

In most cases, there is absolutely no need to perform any anesthesia to the area of skin subjected to treatment thanks to an advanced contact cooling SM, offered by the device. The procedures are relatively short and painless, while convalescence - brief. In most cases, there is absolutely no need to resign from everyday duties, or to be off sick. The non-ablative technique minimizes the risk of any side effects, mostly reducing them to a transient swelling, or an erythema immediately after the procedure. Final esthetic effects are highly positive and long-lasting.

Our modern laser equipment makes it possible to provide and effective TREATMENT for the following:

  • Acne scars
Acne, especially when not treated early on, or if treated incorrectly – can often leave scars which cause a serious esthetic problem. Application of non-ablative laser techniques allows us to improve the condition of the skin in a spectacular fashion, not to mention the wellbeing of our Patients.
  • Surgical scars – result of an all manner of procedures.
An improvement in the visual condition of fresh and old scars is visible immediately after the first session has been applied. Indications: scars following breast, stomach, or thyroid surgery, including laparoscopic procedures, etc.
  • Stretch marks (striae distensae in Latin) – atrophic scars of red and white type.
Stretch marks come into being in places of increased stretchability (stomach, breasts, thighs, etc.) as a result of hormonal imbalances, in the period of pubescence, pregnancy, sometimes as a result of chronic glucocorticosteroid therapy of some ailments.

    It also enables:
  • Fractional, non-ablative, skin rejuvenation (skin exfoliation, dermabrasion, resurfacing).
  • Photo-rejuvenation concerns mostly dry skin, with symptoms of natural  aging, and of the so-called photoaging – face, neck and chest – laser treatment improves the texture and color of the skin by removing slackness of facial skin, and by rejuvenating the hands.
  • Reduction of enlarged skin pores and of small (baby) wrinkles
  • Improvement of texture and elasticity of the skin

Thanks to the help of fractional techniques, as well as the IPL system, without the application of a scalpel, nor anesthesia – we are able to rejuvenate the skin, and we are also able to treat something that had not been possible before – above all, scars and stretch marks. We are able to eliminate negative skin discoloration as well as erythematous lesions, including acne rosacea and angiomas.
All laser procedures performed at our facility are performed by experienced physicians.

Procedures connected with preparation are extremely limited, without any additional, special activities.
Pain or discomfort in the process of treatment – might be incidental and depends on the individual, rather at minimal level, at times the Patient undergoing laser treatment can experience minor stinging, “a prickle”.
After the procedure, the patient is left only with a discrete redness and/or edema, which is of course of transient nature.
In comparison to the ablative technique (the so-called resurfacing CO2) - the non-ablative procedures entail a minor risk of scarring, infection and/or pigmented lesions.
The process of rebuilding collagenous fibers is gradual, ultimately making the results of the procedure visible within a couple of weeks. Histological examination showed a multiplication of fibroblasts in the skin, as well as a production of collagen after a period of 1-6 months after the procedure.
During one of the fractional laser procedures, about 20-25% of the surface of the skin, which is to be treated, is subjected to exposure in order to achieve the best result following 3-5 procedures. They are performed at 2-4 weeks’ intervals.
Following the procedure, it is advisable to administer photoprotection.

    Contraindications for the procedure include:
  • Systemic isotretinoin therapy (laser procedure may be performed after 6 months of the completion of the treatment)
  • Retinoid therapies (both topical and systemic)
  • Herbs which have photosensitizing effect (Saint-John's-wort/Hypericum perforatum, marigold, Equisetum) as well as photosensitizing medications (antibiotics)
